Independence statement

What we do, what we do not do, and where independent bodies decide.

Draft for review by KRAGOS Compliance before launch. Last updated 6 November 2026.

01What we do

KRAGOS Compliance consults on B-BBEE, Employment Equity, Skills Development and Learnerships, ESG, CSI and SED, and Carbon and Emissions. We also provide products that automate compliance work. Clients use them with us or on their own.

02Who decides

B-BBEE levelA SANAS-accredited verification agency, or a sworn affidavit for qualifying EMEs and QSEs
Employment Equity reportsSubmitted by the employer to the Department of Employment and Labour
WSP and ATRSubmitted to your SETA, which approves mandatory grants
New occupational programmesAccredited by the QCTO
Emissions figures for disclosureYour independent third-party verifier, where you appoint one

We prepare. They decide.

03Verification agencies

We recommend you appoint a SANAS-accredited verification agency of your choice, and we work alongside the agency and you. We do not verify, certify or issue certificates. We never describe an EME or QSE sworn affidavit as a certificate. We do not accept fees from verification agencies for referrals.

04Our products

Our products calculate, organise and keep evidence. They do not replace the judgement of a practitioner or the verification of an accredited agency. Every figure keeps where it came from, so whoever reviews it can check it.

05Delivery partners

Some engagements use specialist delivery partners. You contract with KRAGOS Compliance, and we name any partner to you in your engagement letter before work starts.

06Carbon

Our emissions evidence ledger records evidence for third-party verification. We do not create, sell or claim carbon credits or offsets.

07What we do not offer

Accounting, tax and regulatory services are not offered. We do not give tax advice or prepare tax returns. Where an engagement needs that work, we will say so and you appoint your own registered practitioner.

08Conflicts

If we see a conflict of interest in an engagement, we will tell you in writing and agree how to handle it, or decline the work.

09Anti-fronting

Fronting is a criminal offence under section 13O of the B-BBEE Act. We do not design ownership or management structures to inflate a score, and we end an engagement where we see misrepresentation. Read the full anti-fronting stance.
