Platform 04 · Emissions

Emissions figures you can show your working for.

An evidence ledger for your emissions data. Every activity record keeps its source, method and emission factor, and corrections are added as new entries so the history is never overwritten.

Boundary

What the ledger is, and what it is not

Records evidence for third-party verification. It does not create, sell or claim carbon credits or offsets.

Figures from the ledger are reported or calculated emissions until an independent verifier has reviewed them. We do not prepare tax returns or give tax advice; the ledger keeps the activity data your tax practitioner may ask for.

How an entry works

One activity, one entry, its sources attached

  1. Capture. The activity (for a vehicle: distance and energy for the day) and where the reading came from: telemetry, a manual entry or a derived figure. There is no live telemetry feed yet: activity is captured by file today, and inputs are checked with you before any figure is reported.
  2. Stamp. The entry is time-stamped with its source and cannot be edited afterwards.
  3. Correct. A correction is a new entry that supersedes the old one. Both stay on the record.
  4. Calculate. Emissions use a published factor, and the factor version and its source stay with the figure.

What a reviewer sees

An evidence trail, entry by entry

An illustration of the shape of the record. The values are synthetic and describe no real vehicle or client.

Who it is for

Anyone asked to show where an emissions figure came from

Customers, lenders, boards and regulators increasingly ask suppliers for emissions data and the evidence behind it.

Fleet operatorsWhere the ledger started

Daily activity per vehicle, with the factor behind each tonne reported.
